From 2 - 5 November 2015, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) in coordination with Viet Nam Tourism Association and EU Project participated in WTM 2015 in Excel London Exhibition Centre (UK). Promotional activities were implemented at WTM 2015 to attract visitors from the UK and Western European countries.
Viet Nam tourism’s booth with an area of 85m2 attracted the participations of 17 leading Vietnamese tour operators and hotels. The booth under the theme “Viet Nam – Timeless Charm” was decorated with images promoting Viet Nam’s natural beauty, culture and people such as Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh Province), Trang An Landscape Complex (Ninh Binh Province), Complex of Hue Monuments (Thua Thien - Hue Province), Hoi An Ancient Town (Quang Nam Province), beaches of Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, floating markets in the Mekong Delta… Viet Nam tourism’s booth attracted many visitors to exchange information and promote tourism contracts. In particular, media agencies offered to cooperate with Viet Nam to promote Viet Nam tourism to the UK and the world. In addition, international organizations also proposed that VNAT would welcome famtrip and presstrip delegations to explore and promote Viet Nam tourism.
In the framework of WTM 2015, on 2 November, VNAT’s delegation led by Deputy Director General Ha Van Sieu worked with Vietnamese Embassy to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. At the meeting, Minister Counselor Do Hoang Minh informed about tourism cooperation between the UK and Viet Nam and Viet Nam tourism promotion activities hosted by the embassy in the UK. Deputy Director General Ha Van Sieu appreciated these activities and proposed the two sides to strengthen close cooperation for participating in annual WTM, organizing Viet Nam tourism roadshows, welcoming famtrip and presstrip delegations and facilitating British tourists to Viet Nam…
On 3 November, VNAT in coordination with Vietnam Airlines organized a press conference which attracted the participations of nearly 40 media agencies in the UK and Europe to introduce new tourism products, services and major events of Viet Nam in 2015 and 2016. At the press conference, VNAT introduced new attractive destinations and services such as Son Doong Cave (Quang Binh Province), Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark (Ha Giang Province), admiring Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh Province) from seaplane, Phu Quoc tropical paradise (Kien Giang Province)…
Additionally, VNAT also held a cocktail party on 4 November to thank international tour operators sending tourists to Viet Nam and provide opportunities for Vietnamese and international tourism enterprises to expand cooperation. At the party, Deputy Director General Ha Van Sieu emphasized that through WTM 2015, Viet Nam would like to bring to international friends the image of safe, friendly and attractive country.
