Viet Nam's north central provinces promote tourism in Laos

The Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces jointly organised a programme to promote tourism in the provinces, in Laos, on May 21.
The event was attended by the leaders of the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces; representatives of tourism associations and tourism enterprises in the provinces; representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, the Department of Tourism Marketing of Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos; representatives of the Laos Tourism Association and many tourism businesses in the Businessmen Association and Viet Nam – Laos Friendship Association, along with a large number of media and newspapers in Laos and Viet Nam.
Addressing the event, the Deputy Director of the Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen Thi Thanh An, said the programme aimed to introduce the tourism potential and enhance the cooperation and development of tourism between Viet Nam’s Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh provinces with Laos.
In addition, the programme also aimed to attract more visitors from Lao and other countries to the North Central provinces of Viet Nam. The event was also considered as an opportunity for the tourism businesses and tourism associations of Viet Nam and Laos to meet and exchange information.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Lao Association of Travel Agents, Somphong Deviengxay, said the cooperation and development of tourism between Laos-Viet Nam in general, and between Viet Nam’s North Central provinces and Laos in particular, not only creates revenue for the national budget but also helps to strengthen the solidarity between the two countries.
Under the framework of the promotion programme, businesses from Laos and the three provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh also met to exchange information and sign cooperation programmes.
